Jean-Didier and Marie-Anne Mathis provide charming accommodation at their property, 200 metres from the centre of the village of Gordes, just to the east of Avignon in the south of France. They have a swimming pool in their large private garden which is perfect for skinny-dipping and naturist relaxation. The pool is available around the clock and according to the owners, ‘ nothing is more enjoyable than bathing at midnight in the moonlight to the sound of crickets before going to sleep …’ (Website in French only)

Caravans au Naturel

Fancy your own naturist place in the sun? A new British company, Caravans au Naturel, offers a range of static mobile homes to purchase at a nudist campsite in the Lot-et-Garonne region of France. Set in 10 hectares of forest and pasture, in the middle  of the Lot / Quercy, west of Villeneuve-sur-Lot. The park is open from April – September, with the nearest airport at Bergerac, 80km away. There is a bar, restaurant, self-service grocer, a library,  and discotheque as well as a swimming pool, tennis, bowling alleys, volleyball, archery, table tennis, trampoline, children games, football table, video games and darts on the camping park.

 

New easy UK access to Cap d’Agde

The provincial airport west of the city Beziers, in the Languedoc-Roussillon region of France, is only about 10 miles from the naked city at Cap d’Agde. At the end of this month, the first international low-cost flights to Beziers will begin when Ryanair launches a three-times-a-week schedule from Bristol on 30 March 08.

Le Clos de Ferrand Mediterranean Camping, France

We’ve uncovered a 100-pitch naturist camping and caravan site on the Mediterranean coast in the Languedoc-Roussillon region of France, adjacent to a wide sandy nude beach. The family-owned Camping Le Clos de Ferrand has a 4-star rating and is in a protected area on the west part of Sérignan Beach. The owners of Les Places describe their secluded farmhouse holiday accommodation – set in 45 acres of private meadows & woodland – as ‘naturist heaven’. Available during July and August, the whole property sleeps up to 15 people. Smaller parties can be catered for as well as overnight bed and breakfast. A walk-in horizon-less swimming pool overlooks lavender fields.

Domaine Naturiste du Moulin de Faget is a small-scale naturist campsite and B&B in the heart of the Gascogne region of France. Situated in the gently rolling hills at the foot of the French Pyrenees mountains, the centre has four guest rooms in the farmhouse. There is also a fully equipped De Waard tent and a caravan for hire. Moulin de Faget is set in 95 acres of unspoilt natural countryside with a secluded central sunbathing area and natural swimming lake.

A cosy self-catering cottage with access to an attractive swimming pool for skinny-dipping is offered by naturists from the UK. It is in the grounds of their home near Salernes, 50 km from Hyéres and a 75-minute drive from Nice airport. Inland nude beaches can be enjoyed half an hour away around the beautiful Lac Sainte Croix, by the Gorges du Verdon.

The English-speaking owners of naturist farm L’Oliverie in the Pays de Gâtine, central France, have a newly converted gîte sleeping up to six. Additionally, ‘chambre d’hote’ (B&B) rooms are available at the farmhouse, and a recently established camping field for visitors bringing their own accommodation. A sparkling swimming pool and a snack bar complete the picture.

Suzanne Piper, UK representative for naturist holiday group France4Naturisme, has been in touch to advise that the popular Cap Natur nude resort has closed its current site. It provided handy accommodation and camping for visitors to the nearby Plage de Salins bare beach. The owners have sold the property and are currently seeking a new location in the Vendée region in time to open for the 2008 season. (resort listed on page 171 The World’s Best Nude Beaches)

The private grounds of the cottage extend to 2.5 acres, which are ideally suited to au naturel relaxation. And new for 2008 there will be a swimming pool for skinny-dipping.
