Built in 2010, Valle Romano Golf Resort, at Estepona ( Málaga), features 430 luxury air-conditioned apartments. Amongst the many attractions, a furnished nudist terrace is provided for those who prefer to relax au naturel. The resort is also particularly handy for Costa Natura and its popular nude beach, which are situated on the coast directly in front of Valle Romano.

Described as ‘Heavans Gate’, The Thai House in south-west Andalucia, has its own divine meditation garden with balinese day beds and a pond of lotus flowers; together with a natural fresh water spring for bathing. But, perhaps best of all, there’s a virtually private nudist beach just 10 minutes’ walk from the house. Not cheap, but it looks quite special and might be worth investigating.

The same agency offers The Honeymoon House nearby, which is also worth checking out.

Parque Acuático de Córdoba – Aquasierra at Villafrance de Córdoba, about 20 km from the capital of the province, has made special provision for bare bathers. Theresa O’Shea, writing in the August edition of H&E magazine, describes a 3,500 sq metre area set aside for naturists, which includes two swimming pools, a nude sunbathing zone and a shaded relaxation area.

Opening later this month, the Princess Garden Resort is located just 5 minutes’ drive from Benidorm on Spain’s Costa Blanca. With 30 one and two-bedroomed bungalows set in attractive sub-tropical grounds, the central attraction will be the large star-shaped swimming pool surrounded by extensive sun terraces. Dee and Bill, who offer naturist accommodation at their recently renovated property nestling in the lap of the Bernia Mountains in the Jalon Valley, have been in touch to advise their new website address. Casa de Libertad is within easy walking distance of the nearby town of Jalon. The swimming pool has far-reaching views over the surrounding countryside and there is a separate spa. As a qualified therapist Dee can provide a massage on request. Day visitors are also welcome.

25 miles down the coast from Tarragona, Playa El Torn is one of Spain’s finest naturist beaches. Located on the southern outskirts of L’Hospitalet de L’Infant and backed by pine trees, the unspoilt sandy shore stretches for over a mile (World’s Best Nude Beaches – page 129). Nearby textile Cala d’Oques offers attractive camping, with rooms available for those without their own accommodation. There is a small cove right next to the site which is used by naturists, and the main El Torn nude beach is less than 200 metres walk. An added bonus is that the camping remains open all year and welcomes long-stay visitors.

Directly adjacent to  El Torn, fully naturist camping is available at El TemploDel Sol.

Located just 600 metres from the naturist-friendly Cabo de Trafalgar beach (World’s Best Nude Beaches, page 117), Puravida Bungalow Apartaments offer handy and informal accommodation nearby. There are ten bungalows and two apartments  set in 4,000 square metres of grounds. According to the website, swimsuits are optional at the pool.

Just a couple of kilometres inland from the seaside town of Estepona, Finca Padron has two bedrooms and its own swimming pool. According to the owners, “this very private property is not overlooked at all and as such would be very suitable for naturists“. The popular bare beach at Costa Natura – the nudist resort on the outskirts of Estepona – is not far away. (Same property – different agency)

Linda and Chris, ex hoteliers from the New Forest in the UK, offer a warm welcome to naturists at their B&B close to Palomares, in Almeria. Holiday accommodation is available at Casa Bonita from June to September. Set in a semi-rural hilltop location a short distance from Vera Playa naturist beach, the property has sea and mountain views together with it’s own swimming pool.

Cortijo Castillo is a four-bedroomed farmhouse with its own swimming pool, near the town of Lorca, in the Murcia region of Spain. The country property is completely private and suitable for naturists, according to the owner. The popular towns of Velez Rubio and Velez Blanco are a little over ten minutes’ away, while the coast is 45 minutes distant. Also handy for skiing in the Sierra Nevada.

Paul and Jean – expat naturists from the UK – welcome like minded folk to holiday at Finca Restonica, set in the Andalucian countryside on the outskirts of Coin, an old Spanish town on the Costa Del Sol, southern Spain. Attractive accommodation, a sparkling pool and a secluded location provide the ingredients for a relaxing vacation in the buff.

Dutch naturist tutors are organising an international massage week for men and women in Southern Spain, during late summer 2010. From 11th to 18th September, the totally naturist holiday week will include daily sessions covering the basics of western massage. The venue is a large property complete with swimming pool, easily accessible from Malaga airport and not far from the popular resort of Nerja. Touch, the name of the company behind the venture, claim to have trained more than 2,500 people in the skills of massage, but suggest this could be a naturist first.

We have learned of three more naturist-friendly villas with pools in Spanish hotspots on the Costa Blanca and the Costa del Sol. Finca Caterina on the outskirts of the town of Teulada, is only a short drive from the nude beach at Cumbre del Sol near Moraira. Also in Moraira, Villa Lisa has a completely secluded garden and pool area, even though it is set in a residential part of town. It is not marketed specifically for naturists, but we know from personal feedback that it is entirely suitable because of the high level of privacy. Finally, set on the eastern Costa del Sol, a charming villa near the hillside town of Competa is described by the owners as, “perfect for a nudist holiday or for those who just like to swim and sunbathe au naturel“. Dutch naturists Ria and Arie have two holiday apartments at their property – Casa de las Colinas – near Alicante, on Spain’s Costa Blanca. With self-contained naturist accommodation and an inviting swimming pool, the rural accommodation is likely to appeal to nature lovers as well as naturists. Wi-Fi internet connection available. Martin and David have a modern two bedroom/one bathroom naturist apartment in a private villa near Estepona, Andalucia, to let. Handy for Marbella or Puerto Banus and within easy reach of Malaga, Seville and Granada. The ground floor accommodation provides direct access to the heated pool, hot tub and pretty gardens all available for naked relaxation.

According to Keith Didcock, author of the Cool Camping Europe guidebook, and writing in the Guardian, the four-star campsite Cala Llevado  on the southern outskirts of Tossa de Mar has its own naturist cove. The well established site – currently boasting its 50th anniversary – has no less than four beaches, one of which is used by those who prefer not to wear a swimsuit.

Bare Tracks has been established to offer naturist walks in the countryside of the western Costa del Sol, in southern Spain. Normally in the vicinity of Estepona – location of the renowned Costa Natura holiday centre – the treks last for up to five hours, but more strenuous outings are available for experienced hikers.

Casa de cinco Hermanos, a Dutch-owned naturist holiday club, is readily accessible from Alicante in southern Spain. Currently there are two ensuite guest rooms in the main house and two wooden casitas in the grounds for self-catering. A new swimming pool surrounded by a large sunbathing terrace is the centrepiece of the property with far-reaching views of the surrounding countryside.

Casa Cal Domino is a four-bedroomed naturist-friendly villa situated on a small wooded hill 3 km from the Costa Brava coastline, between Palamós and Platja DÁro. Completely renovated in 2007, the luxury property includes an infinity pool with with extensive views of the Mediterranean and the nearby medieval village of Calonge.

A new naturist site with three mobile homes to let is set in 4.5 acres of rustic land in rural Catalunya, close to the famous river Ebro.  Coll Som is within easy reach of the coast, a two-minute drive to the nearest village, and twenty minutes from the principle town of Tortosa. The property is lined with carob and olives trees and has a small splash pool to cool off in. The nearest airport is at Reus about an hours’ drive away.
