The Dutch-owned Petit-Fours retreat provides naturist accommodation in a guest house, gite and also a mini-camping for up to just eight people. However, the estate covers an extensive 24 hectres (approx 60 acres) of rural grounds which can be explored at leisure au naturel. Located in the countryside outside the village of Busserolles, in the Perigord Vert region of the Dordogne; there is a good-sized swimming pool and a particular attraction is the lack of light pollution, providing excellent conditions for star gazing. Stable Cottage is located in the mountain area of Monda in the countryside of Andalucia, southern Spain, just above the resort of Marbella. The self-catering holiday property which sleeps up to 4, is set on its own, away from the main residence and is described as:  “Ideal for naturists, artists, walkers, photographers, horse riders/enthusiasts, those who fancy a quiet and relaxing holiday, or those who like to party into the early hours…”. The cottage apparently enjoys amazing views and total privacy. A swimming pool, wi-fi and plenty of parking are further attractions.

This handy website lists a collection of villa rentals and condos on the Caribbean island of St Martin/St Maarten, suitable for private sunbathing and ‘friends of naturism‘. The holiday properties allow either topless or au naturel relaxation with private pools and sundecks which can be enjoyed in the buff without being overlooked.

We’re delighted to see the appealing 5-star Montiboli Hotel at Villajoyosa, on the Costa Blanca, now actively promoting its location next to the official nudist beach Playa L’Esparrelló. The hotel stands on a low cliff overlooking the naturist zone, and has a set of private steps providing direct access. The beach and hotel are described in The World’s Best Nude Beaches (p.128).

Les Rieux is a four bedroomed farmhouse at St Antonin Noble Val, high on the south facing slopes of the Aveyron Gorge in the Tarn et Garonne region of the Midi-Pyrénées. It is set in 2.5 acres of private grounds and is described by the owners as “Extremely suitable for naturists“. The recently renovated property retains many of its original features and is bordered by pastures and woodland, and has a distinct lack of neighbours. Mature trees provide ample natural shade during the long hot summer days enjoyed in the South of France.

This long-established naturist club on the western outskirts of Innsbruck, in the heart of the Austrian Tyrol, can accommodate holidaying campers, caravanners and motorhomers by prior reservation. Liga Völs club has a well-run restaurant, bar, club house, swimming pool, and a children’s playground with sandpit, carousel, swings and toys. It goes without saying that the club is surrounded by inspiring Alpine scenery.

At this private and secluded beachfront cabana, hosts, Antonio and Cuca, provide a refuge surrounded by nature. They invite guests to experience the freedom of hanging around by the seashore or sunbathing on the beach in the nude, in an environment of respect and warmth. There is a small dipping pool and the accommodation includes a double bedroom, a private bathroom and an equipped kitchen. Villa del Señor is located off the Colima-Manzanillo toll highway at Km. 69.5.

A rural family naturist guest house and camping ground – NaturViana – is set  382 meters above sea level on the north coast of Portugal, in a natural area at the top of Serra da Padela. There are three bedrooms in the guest house with six beds, and the site has room for about thirty tents and a small number of caravans and motorhomes (advance booking required). The property  – which has a pool and pretty gardens –  is located at Largo de Agros, Geraz do Lima.

Set in remote countryside, in the heart of the Costa Brava, La Roureda, is thirty minutes from Girona, and about an hour from Barcelona. This historic manor house dates back in parts to 1377, but now offers all the comforts of modern living. It can accommodate up to twelve guests and there is a naturist-friendly, non-chlorinated pool.

The US-based holiday company ‘FlipKey‘ recommends a selection of 13 properties worldwide for for baring all. According to their website: “Looking for a place to show a little more skin or even wear nothing but your birthday suit? These nudist and naturist-friendly homes just might be perfect for your clothing-optional vacation style.”

A totally reformed finca with a stylish interior in a Spanish farming hamlet – Cortijo Blanco – is about 4 kms from town of Periana in the Axarquia region of Andalucia. The accommodation can accommodate up to 6 people, and there is a private pool with roman steps surrounded by a good sized area for very private sunbathing, which according to the owner, is suitable for naturists. There is also a large roof terrace which has 360 degree views of the Andalucian countryside.

The en-suite guest room at this naturist property accommodates two people. Paradis Bleu is located close to the famous Cathar city of Minervois, which is just 2km away. Also handy for the Mediterranean coast and a choice of naturist beaches. It is separate from the main house and has its own entrance and parking. This fascinating and productive ecological Finca El Morisco owned by Germans – Alexander and Darja Hüglin – offers a variety of family-friendly accommodation. It is not naturist per se, but it does offer a FKK nudist sunbathing terrace and sauna as part of the on-site wellness centre. There is a restaurant which provides vegetarian cuisine created in the main using ingredients from their garden.Working holidays are also available in exchange for board, accommodation and a small wage (min 4 weeks).

Naturist bed & breakfast is offered at Le Mas de la Tour, in the Var region of Provence, in the South of France. There are two letting bedrooms and an attractive swimming pool all set in delightful grounds which enjoy far-reaching views. The property is set at an altitude of 650 metres and is close to the picturesque village of Tourtour. The owners claim the location benefits from 300 sunny days a year. (Link in French)

A small new Dutch enterprise overlooking the Guadalahorce valley near Cartama, a short distance inland from Malaga, is offering funky clothing-optional glamping – Bohemia Natura. Stay in ‘pimped-up’ vintage caravans, or even a crazy tent on top of an old-timer Landrover! There’s a swimming pool, a bar, help-yourself fruit trees, and campfires. Breakfast, lunch and dinner can be provided.

The three newly-built Kalokeri Villas, which enjoy an impressive panorama overlooking the sea near Vasilithi, in the Peloponnese region of Greece, provide naturist holiday accommodation far from the madding crowd. The nearest airport is at Kalamata, 50km distant, and has direct flights from various European countries including the UK (Stansted). The (English-speaking) German owners want visitors to enjoy peace and tranquility; and they say there’s no need to hire a car – transfers can be arranged and visitors can have a lift to the supermarket two or three times each week.

The 4-star, German-owned, Hotel Aldiana Alcaidesa at Alcaidesa, San Roque, just north of Gibraltar, offers a nudist terrace amongst its extensive range of facilities. Additionally, part of the nearby beach towards Punta Mala is used by bare bathers and is listed in ‘The World’s Best Nudist Beaches’ (page 118).

Camping Wyzwanie has recently come to our attention. The managers – Ria and Hans Hemmes – are keen nudists and have recently made a dedicated naturist area within the 69-acre site. Situated centrally in the rural area of Bory Tycholski, next to the river Wda, Camping Wyzwanie offers good facilities in attractive countryside.

Described as the Mustique of the Mediterranean, the tiny exclusive island of Cavello sits in the Tyrrhenian Sea is less than 2 miles off the southern coast of Corsica. Writing in The Times Travel section today, Sean Thomas describes it thus: ‘…a clear Seychellois sea that unrolls its lacy waves on to gleaming deserted beaches…’ The privately-owned island has luxury accommodation (with prices to match) at the Hotel & SPA des Pecheurs. Thomas continues: ‘The Shore Club has an Italian ambiance as well as a faint Ibizan buzz. Think chillout music and nude sunbathing in the next cove along.’
