The SPAeVITA Centre, where all the facilities are linked by heated corridors, comprises a hotel with 138 rooms, a number of catering establishments, a sports hall, a fitness studio, a sports and adrenalin park, and the largest wellness and bathing facility in Croatia – the Water Planet. A campsite is also adjacent. Tuhelj Thermae is located in the centre of Hrvatsko Zagorje, 40km from Zagreb. Sauna World covers an area of 1000m2, and  includes 3 different Finnish saunas, 3 steam saunas, a whirlpool, cold water pool, ice pit, kneipp track; various areas for relaxation with water beds, rocking chairs, a wellness bar and a nudist terrace. The sauna code of conduct advises, ‘You are not allowed swimwear’.

French naturist couple, Serge and Patricia, let out their modern property (built 2011) – Cabana del Sol – for couples who prefer to ‘holiday au naturel’. Four bedrooms are available, and guests can use the  fully fitted kitchen and spacious lounge-dining area. Breakfast is provided. Wi-fi is available, and the grounds boast an attractive pool with far-reaching views. The chambres d’hotes is situated approx 25 miles from Faro. According to Serge and Patricia,  ‘Living naked in the sun‘ is their philosophy.

A small new naturist complex opened on 1 November 2014, on the west coast of the Canarian island of La Palma. The island is one of the smaller and less touristy destinations in the region. There are a couple of direct charter flights a week to La Palma from the UK (Tui/Thomson), otherwise the easiest way to travel is by ferry from Los Cristianos, on the island of Tenerife. La Palma Natura has eight fully equipped self-catering apartments, an attractive pool and free wi-fi. The accommodation is close to the new official naturist beach at Puerto Tazacorte. Casa del Pastore is a naturist-friendly guesthouse in a quiet rural area near the village of Gambassi Terme, in Tuscany. The house was built in 2010 and is surrounded by a large garden with private pool and Jacuzzi. There are two bedrooms and  4 – 6 guests can be accommodated. Privacy and panoramic views are on offer, and the property is described on the website as ‘exceptional for nudists‘.

Château Rieutort is an elegant 18th century wine domain situated on the banks of the Herault River in Languedoc-Roussillon. Surrounded by a 2,5 ha park and 30 ha of its own vineyards; gites, bed and breakfast rooms and suites are on offer. There are two swimming pools with sunbathing terraces, one of which is always available for ‘naturists’.

BUT in August 2015 the Chateau Rieutort is organising its first FULLY NATURIST week with a programme of events; and additionally is offering 10% discount to card-holding naturists.

From July Laurent and Johanna will be welcoming holidaymakers to stay at their new naturist guest house – Finca Johanna – at Coin, in the Province of Málaga, Andalucia. Located between the mountains and the sea, the grounds offer peaceful relaxation by the pool under the southern Spanish sun. Three en suite rooms set beside an attractive swimming pool and solarium at Sesimbra, near Lisbon, provide a welcome haven for naturists and skinny-dippers escaping the city at this rural retreat. Owners, Luís and António, provide massage and naked yoga at their Pool Houses Naturist Lodge, as well as bicycle hire and photography sessions. Spa facilities include a Jacuzzi and steam room, and self-caterers can share a communal kitchen and lounge. The nearest naturist beach is a cycle ride or short car journey from the property.

Nick at Unseen Bali has been in touch to tell us about ‘Bali au Natural‘, a naturist beach resort in SE Asia with extensive facilities for nature lovers, men and women, singles and couples. The lush tropical location – adjacent to a clothing-optional shore – in Northern Bali, provides accommodation in 15 luxury rooms. A separate naturist property – ‘Sunclad Villa‘ – although open to all, is particularly popular with the gay community.

Barefeet Naturist Resort claims to be the first of its kind in the city of Bangkok, Thailand. In addition to en-suite bedroom accommodation and catering, the compact development has a garden area with a small pool. Described as family-friendly, day visitors are welcome in addition to residential guests. A host of special events are organised on a regular basis.

Tony and Nicky fell in love with the Canarian island of Lanzarote on their first visit last year. And only a matter of weeks later returned to the island to purchase a holiday property at the naturist village of Charco del Palo. They have now made their 2-bedroomed bungalow in an intimate development of just six properties – with a shared a pool – available to other sunseekers wanting an au natural vacation by the sea.

The 20-acre privately-owned Taylowood naturist resort offers a place to unwind in an Australian bush setting nestled in the Conway Ranges of undulating private land, 7 kms down Conway Beach Road. In addition to the tourist caravan park, owners Linda and Rogin have four self-catering cabins available for visiting guests to enjoy the privacy and seclusion of the site. There are no catering facilities at the resort, however, but extensive shopping can be found 15 minutes’ drive away at Proserpine or Cannonvale,

Casale Terranera claims to be the first naturist agritourism venture associated with the Italian Naturist Federation (FENAIT) and is situated in the popular Tuscany region. The 40-acre organic farm offers a holiday home for rental and is described as a relaxing natural place, in a wild environment. There are two swimming pools, a sauna and tennis courts for guests to use. Additionally trekking on the farm’s horses is on offer and there are hot springs nearby. Visitors can also bring their own tent and pitch up. The property is by the village of Montenero and close to Montalcino and Mount Amiata.

For the last few years Ted and his wife Hun have been running Quinta da Horta naturist resort on the Algarve in southern Portugal. But the business has now been sold and the Buns have moved to Caunes en Minervois in Cathar country in the South of France and set up a new retreat there – L’Olivette. There is a fully self-contained one-bedroomed gite and a lovely swimming pool in the gardens. Ted and Hun have everything set up for those who prefer to travel with hand luggage only.

A large penthouse apartment in the centre of Sitges, on Spain’s Costa Dorada, is being marketed as having a huge private panoramic nude terrace. With 4 bedrooms and two bathrooms, accommodation is provided for up to 7 people at this comfortable and well-equipped property.

The refurbished Playa del Sol apartments at Playa del Ingles, in southern Gran Canaria, provide a good range of facilities including something for all-over sunseekers. According to the hotel management “On the top floor of the hotel is our nudist Solarium, ideal for experiencing a complete sense of freedom. We invite you to give it a try!” Obviously ‘on message’; and they have provided a photo of the nude zone on the website too.

Roelf and Fred offer naturist-friendly B&B in a luxurious self-contained apartment set in pretty gardens at Hooghalen, in the heart of Drenthe, between Assen and Beilen. The owners make it clear on their website that clothes are optional with naturists welcome; and the sunbeds on  the terrace provide undisturbed sunshine. The appealing Oriental Village Naturist Resort close to the city of Chiang Mai, in Thailand, is surrounded by rice fields and eternal green mountains. Twelve well-equipped cottages are centred around an attractive swimming pool. The resort’s ‘Mountain View’ restaurant is open from breakfast until dinner, and serves Thai specialties as well as Western recipes.

A modern low-rise aparthotel at Playa Blanca, on the south coast of Lanzarote – Pueblo Marinero – offers an FKK naturist sun terrace overlooking the sea. Officially rated locally with 4 stars, the self-catering adults-only accommodation is available through many of the UK’s largest tour operators including Thomson and First Choice. A half-board option can be booked by those who prefer to let somebody else do the cooking. The location is handy for the renowned bare beaches at Papagayo (World’s Best Nude Beaches, page 157).

Immersed in a Mediterranean forest and with views of the Tuscan archipelago, the Locanda di Terramare provides relaxing naturist holidays. With five bedrooms, the ancient farmhouse apparently encompasses the owners’ passion for nature, calm, well-being and culture. Breakfast is served in an attractive glass conservatory or in the garden. Access to a ‘wellness area’ is included, and the property is approximately 15 minutes’ drive from the coast.

With three comfortable bedrooms, Le Mas Saint Sauveur chambres d’hôtes at Barjols in the Var region of Provence, South of France, is exclusively for naturists. There is a pool,  jacuzzi, a panoramic terrace and the grounds extend to 3 hectares.
